All camps are for children ages 5-9. Children must be 5 at the time of their camp!

2012 SASKTEL SUMMER COOL CAMP THEMES
5-DAY CAMPS
July 9-13: Spread Your Wings. Take a look at Saskatchewan’s favourite butterfly – the monarch! We will have the chance to meet some real monarchs and caterpillars face-to-face, and see their amazing transformation for ourselves! This camp includes a field trip to a sweet-smelling butterfly garden, a trip to the swimming pool, and a full-length film in our theatre!
July 30-Aug 3: Animals All Around. Get the scoop on some unique animals and get to know them inside and out! This camp includes a trip to the WASCANA BIRD SANCTUARY, a visit from a very ssslithery ssserpent, a trip to the swimming pool, and a full-length film in our theatre!
Aug 20-24: Down to the Nature of Things. Taking a look at the science side of the environment including cycles, growth, and how everything is connected! This camp includes a field trip to Wascana Marsh for a meet and greet with nature, a visit from a “green science” superhero, a trip to the swimming pool, and a full-length film in our theatre!
4-DAY CAMPS
July 3-6: Dino Safari. Join us on this Jurassic-sized adventure as we learn about the giant lizards that roamed the Earth long before us! Campers will have the chance to meet a real palaeontologist on a fossil field trip to the Museum Annex. This camp also includes a trip to the swimming pool and a full-length film in our theatre!
Aug 7-10: Dino Safari (repeat) Dinosaur discovery, take two! A repeat of the first program to fit in all of those young prehistoric researchers of Regina!
Aug 27-30: Weather Whirlwind. Prepare to be swept away as we study the crazy weather of Saskatchewan! We get to visit a TV weather station for an up close and personal look at the weather tracking equipment! This camp also includes a trip to the swimming pool.
SINGULAR-THEMED CAMPS
July 16: The Creative Flow. Turn ideas into masterpieces as we experiment with different forms of art!
July 17: Endangered Animal Rescue. Burrow in as we learn all about the Burrowing Owls and why they’re at risk. Also, we get to meet a special “feathery” guest from the Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre in Moose Jaw!
July 18: Without a Paddle. Would you be able to survive in Saskatchewan without towns and cities? We discuss different survival methods that have been used in the past!
July 19: Nature’s Comeback. Learn how the environment bounces back after one of Mother Nature’s disasters!
July 20: Wet & Wild Friday. A day of clean water and pure fun! Bring your bathing suit and join us for a weather permitted day of water activities outside and a feature film in the afternoon!
Aug 13: Green with Envy. We take a stroll down the path to eco-friendliness and learn how small changes can make a big difference!
Aug 14: Diggin’ Up History. We get between a rock and a hard place to find the differences between all those “ologies” and discover what we can find beneath the earth’s surface!
Aug 15: Nature’s Little Helpers. Mother Nature is nothing without her little insect helpers! Today is all about bugs, slugs, and worms!
Aug 16: Trek to Willow Island. Today we are going to hike on over to Willow Island to spend some quality time at Wascana’s finest fun spot!
Aug 17: Wet & Wild Friday. A day of clean water and pure fun! Bring your bathing suit and join us for a weather permitted day of water activities outside and a feature film in the afternoon!

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION
Camp days will be filled with a great combination of facts and fun: games, experiments, stories, crafts, gallery visits, a feature film on the big screen, and many fun outside activities!
Daily schedules are provided, so you know what the campers are busy doing and where they are at any given time.
Ratio never exceeds 1 guide per 10 children and children are supervised from drop-off to pick-up.
All camp days are from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Drop off time is from 8:45 a.m.-9:00 a.m., and pick-up time is from 5:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Before care is available from 7:45 a.m. for an additional fee.
We will provide 2 water/juice breaks throughout the day, but lunch and snacks are not provided; please note that all lunches must be peanut-free.
Children should bring with them:
- water bottle
- lunch and two snacks
- backpack
- hat
- running shoes or strapped sandals
- a light jacket
- a bathing suit and towel on designated “swim” or “wet” days
We will supply and apply sunscreen and bugspray as it is needed.
